About Bryan Tackett

Why vote Bryan Tackett

My background aligns well with the duties of a Justice of the Peace. I hold a bachelor’s degree in theology, grounding me in ethics and sound judgment. I owned and operated an insurance and financial agency for 24 years, gaining extensive experience with contracts, regulations, and dispute resolution.

REAL PEOPLE. REAL FUTURES

As an ER Trauma Chaplain and Citizen Police Academy graduate, I understand inquests and law enforcement processes. My work as an AISD substitute, mentor, and longtime community coach supports fair handling of truancy and community matters. Today, I continue serving as a pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church and a coach at the Maverick Boys & Girls Club, investing in the next generation with patience, compassion, and steady leadership.

“Firm when necessary. Compassionate when it matters. Clear every time.”

Why Bryan Tackett is Running

When I was 17, I stood before a Justice of the Peace. Instead of staying behind the bench, he stepped down, extended his hand, and said, “Mr. Tackett.” My heart jumped. He told me, “If you’re man enough to shake my hand, I’m man enough to give you another chance. I don’t want to see you back in my courtroom.”

That moment changed my life.

For nearly three decades, I’ve worked to protect and restore the people I serve in the community I’ve called home for 34 years in Potter County, including 30 in Precinct One. I’m seeking this judgeship to offer that same fairness, accountability, and community to every person who comes before the court.

My life’s work has been spent helping people: guiding families, listening without judgment, and providing clarity when they need it most.

Ready to Serve Potter County

My judicial philosophy is to apply the law faithfully, with fairness, consistency, and compassion. I believe in our legal principles, ensuring due process, and treating every person with dignity and respect. When possible, I support proactive and educational solutions that reduce conflict, strengthen community trust, and serve both justice and the public good.

I will be prudent in decisions, consistent with the law and proactive in my leadership.

REAL PEOPLE. REAL FUTRES that's what I stand for. I am asking for your vote.

Bryan’s only claim to fame, as he likes to say, is marrying his one and only, Jenna, 37 years ago. Together they have two children, Emily (31) and Jonathan (28), a daughter-in-law, Kirsten, and two grandchildren. Bryan’s relationship with God is his first priority. He is excited to bring his years of service to the bench, where he will have a broader platform and greater opportunity to continue serving the people of Potter County.
